Personal Background
Robin Cupp developed an interest in acupuncture and alternative healing methods as part of his own healing journey. He remembers seeing a library book on acupuncture when he was 14, and was struck by the notion that needles could help instead of hurt. Later, in his 20’s, he had a roommate who found it helpful, and that motivated him to try it for certain health problems.
In the 1980’s, he was told by a physician that he couldn’t help me but “you should see a psychiatrist” for his very real physical symptoms. As he began to explore how he could regain his health, he saw acupuncturists and alternative healers, traveling extensively and living in Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan as he experienced the effectiveness of oriental medicine systems thousands of years old. In addition, he studied Chi Kung and Jungian dream work.
As he discovered how health, energy and spirit are intertwined he made a drastic career change – leaving his work as an aerospace engineer to pursue a new career using the healing methods that had changed his life.
Education, Training, and Credentials
Robin began his study of Chinese Medicine at Ruseto College in Boulder, Colorado, studying under Chinese Master Pao Chin Huang
for four years. After completing the certificate program in 1996, he moved to Tucson and set up a private practice. He joined the faculty at the ASAOM, becoming the Academic Dean in 2000 and completing his Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine the following year. From 1997-2000, he wrote a series of articles on the how the cycles of the seasons affect health that appeared in the newsletter of the Nogales, AZ School District newsletter
Pioneering Applications for a Healing Practice
Robin then relocated to Silverton, Oregon in 2001 where for two years he built an innovative and successful practice pioneering the use of Applied Kinesiology in an acupuncture practice. Licensed in both Arizona and Oregon, Robin returned to Tucson in 2003 and began using the Chinese meridian system with acupressure as an alternative to using needles.
Dissatisfied with achieving about a 50% success rate in eliminating allergies, he began to incorporate contemporary energy psychology techniques to enhance the effectiveness of clearing emotional blockages that affect persistent allergies and difficult or undiagnosed chronic conditions such as viruses, bacteria, fungus, parasites, irritable bowel, and fibromyalgia.
Today, he maintains an active private practice and conducts continuing education seminars for health professionals. Robin offers training in the following areas: Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT), Applied Kinesiology, and Allergy Elimination.
