How Acupuncture Works.

3000 Years of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine:

Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is a medical system that includes many treatment effective healing approaches: acupuncture, acupressure massage, Tuina (therapeutic massage), moxabustion therapy, herbal prescriptions and nutritional counseling. Ancient manuscripts and artifacts indicate these methods have been developed over a 3000-year period and cover everything from treating bruises, sprains and muscular pain to controlling chronic disease such as diabetes and hepatitis.

acupuncture healing modelOriental Medical theory explains that pain and disease are caused by a blockage or imbalance of the energy circulating through the body. The energy of the body circulates in flow lines known as meridians. Acupuncture treatments are designed to restore balance to the flow of energy in the meridians, returning the body to a healthy state.

Extremely fine sterile needles are inserted at specific points on the body -- although modern adaptations employing acupressure often permit effective treatment without the use of needles. These points are carefully selected according to the patients' signs and symptoms. Acute conditions or pain can be relieved in one or two sessions. In the case of chronic disease, the body gently returns to the state of balance and full health after a number of treatments.

Emphasis is placed on understanding and treating the underlying cause of each individual's imbalance. This holistic approach to health addresses not only physical complaints, but emotional, environmental and lifestyle conditions. The results are generally long-lasting, although most patients find occaisional maintenance treatments help keep them healthy and happy.

Our approach to acupuncture and Oriental Medicine - Ancient meets Modern

We have a unique approach to acupuncture and oriental medicine. We use Applied Kinesiology (AK) to communicate with the body's own natural intelligence. AK allows us to quickly find a condition and treat it. Problems such as a vitamin deficiencies or chronic viral infections can be quickly identified and treated.

We use the following ancient techniques:

We use the following modern techniques:

These modern techniques are extremely powerful at treating chronic illnesses and emotional disturbances previously thought to be untouchable by medical doctors.
